Allergic rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis

Rhinitis is divided into infectious, rhinitis of non-allergic origin and allergic rhinitis. The cause of allergic rhinitis (allergic rhinitis) is hypersensitivity to some of the allergens. Its symptoms are caused by contact of the allergen with the mucous membranes of the nose, conjunctiva or nasopharynx, followed by the development of allergic inflammation.

Allergic rhinitis can be caused by allergens from both indoor and outdoor environments. When caused by pollen, it is sometimes incorrectly referred to as "hay fever" and occurs mainly during the growing season of the plants, in the so-called pollen season. In our country, it lasts from early spring to late autumn (usually from February or March to October) and has been constantly extending in recent decades. Allergic rhinitis has been shown to adversely affect quality of life. Many people with the disease complain of problems falling asleep, waking up at night, and not getting enough sleep. Others report that allergic rhinitis affects daily activities or performance at school or work. Many patients feel tired or even irritated.
