Acyclovir STADA is effective in treating infections (both first infections and recurrent infections) caused by the Herpes simplex virus. It is used for cold sores on the lips and face and also to relieve pain and itching in skin infections caused by herpes viruses. Aciclovir in the cream is converted into an active drug with an antiviral effect until it penetrates a virus-infected cell. Thus, these viruses themselves contribute to the formation of a substance which then prevents their reproduction. The drug can be used by adults, adolescents, children.
