Collagen is a protein formed by three protein fibers (triple helix), which consists of about 20 types of amino acids and is the basic protein of all connective tissues and represents about 25% of all protein mass in the human body.

It makes up 30% of the total mass of human protein and up to 75% of the skin tissue. From the age of 25, the content of collagen in the skin decreases by 1,5% every year, after the age of 40 it is not formed at all.
