However, packaged food products must be consumed before the expiry date shown on the product's original packaging and must be handled with the utmost care and hygiene during the vacuum repackaging operation.

Recommendations for lids
Use tested lids when storing food. Lid seals must be in excellent condition to create and maintain a vacuum. The housing can be serviced by immersing the housing in boiling water for 3 minutes and then wiping the dry seal with a drop of oil. This will provide the necessary flexibility for the lid seals.
