A lemon-flavored hot drink is an anti-flu and cold medicine that contains:

  • phenylephrine hydrochloride - a drug that loosens a stuffy nose and paranasal sinuses and thus helps to facilitate breathing,
  • ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - a common ingredient in flu and cold medicines that is in the medicine to help replace vitamin C, which may be insufficient in the early stages of flu and colds.
