Sore throat - causes and manifestations

Sore throat is most often caused by a cold and is caused by viruses or bacteria that enter the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, where they trigger inflammation. Sore throat can also be accompanied by other diseases, such as e.g. tonsillitis (tonsillitis) or laryngitis (laryngitis).

Sore throat is the most common manifestation of a cold that an adult overcomes several times a year. A cold is most common in winter, when the immune system is weakened. However, it can and does occur even in the warm summer months, e.g. due to the use of air conditioning or exposure to fluctuating temperatures. The reaction to inflammation is accompanied by typical symptoms, such as initially a feeling of dryness in the throat, then a feeling of scratching, swelling and redness, and then the development of pain and difficulty swallowing. In our pharmacies you will find products that provide comprehensive help in this situation thanks to three effects: they reduce sore throat, treat inflammation and act against harmful microorganisms attacking the mucous membranes, which are the main cause of sore throat.
