Although it seems unbelievable, the warm and life-giving sun causes one in five people to be allergic. Modern times and often an exaggerated pursuit of cleanliness make people much more sensitive to the so-called allergens that are all around. Predisposition to allergies can be inherited. Statistics show that if one parent is allergic, there is up to a thirty percent chance that his offspring will develop an allergic disease. If both parents are allergic, the probability increases up to sixty percent. However, this is not the rule. An inherited assumption can skip one generation. It is important to perceive allergy as a certain property of the organism, which, unfortunately, the patient usually carries with him throughout his life. The treatment prescribed by the allergist is therefore long-term and often lifelong. Although none of the drugs, be they pills, eye drops or nasal sprays, will completely cure allergy sufferers, an adequately treated patient today may not be limited by anything and can lead a full life.
