Inflammation of the throat is actually inflammation of the mucous membranes of the back of the pharynx. It is manifested by scratching in the throat, sore throat and pain when swallowing. It is a common disease, especially in children. In case of inflammation, the mucous membrane of the pharynx is inflamed, the tonsils are not inflamed. This condition must be distinguished from tonsillitis - tonsillitis and purulent tonsillitis - sore throat. The most common cause of throat inflammation is a viral infection. Viral throat inflammation is caused by rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, coxac virus, infectious mononucleosis virus or others.

In viral inflammation, if the temperature does not drop or the condition worsens after a temporary improvement, the temperature rises again, the sore throat becomes more pronounced, it is known that viral sore throat is complicated by a bacterial infection. The child is most often infected in a group or in contact with a sick person. The transfer takes place on the one hand by a droplet route, i.e. e.g. during the conversation, the virus gets into the air, by inhalation it reaches the mucous membrane of other people. Transmission is also possible by contact, for example, with infected toys, spoons, dishes, etc.
