POTASSIUM IODATE

ENT AND RESPIRATORY INDICATIONS:

• Vasomotor or acute rhinitis with abundant, burning, watery discharge accompanied by sneezing and tearing.

• Acute sinusitis with a swollen red nose and an animal feeling at the root of the nose (it differs from Sticta pulmonaria and Kalium bichromicum in the intensity of the pain).

• Edema of the larynx.

REUMATOLOGICAL INDICATIONS:

• Rheumatism worsening at night or with warm and humid winds.

• Joint pain with the need for exercise and fresh air.

• Nocturnal bone pain, gout pain with deformities (knees, heels, toes) with characteristic pain.

OTHER INDICATIONS:

• Eye inflammation: iritis, irido-chorioiditis, keratitis.

• Goiter, symptoms of hyperthyroidism.

• Acne.

CHARACTERISTIC SIGNS - FEELINGS: Deep, piercing, sharp shooting pains, violent headache: pains in the parietal bone, pinching, stabbing with a knife, nail, worse in heat and better in fresh air; headache worse at five o'clock in the morning; sharp shooting pain above left eye, going to left temporal region; shooting pain in upper jaw; pinching pain at the root of the nose; nocturnal bone pains.

MODALITIES: Heat deterioration (except rhinitis); at night. Improvement in fresh air (except rhinitis), movement.

ACCOMPANYING FEATURES: Watery, copious, burning or dense greenish secretion.
