• Coccus cacti is the most common and appropriate remedy for the initial condition of whooping cough.

• Spastic asthmatic cough with seizures late at night and after waking up.

CHARACTERISTICS - FEELINGS: Reflex hyperesthesia of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa: slight contact causes nausea; nausea when brushing teeth; unbearable cough-inducing laryngeal itching.

MODALITIES: Deterioration in a warm room, but the patient is sensitive to cold. Improvement in a cold room or when drinking a small amount of cold water (Cuprum metallicum).
