HYOSCYAMUS NIGER

The indications relate mainly to the effects of Hyoscyamus on the nervous system:

• Insomnia of nervous, restless children. They scream from sleep and pull themselves out of a dream (supplement: Stramonium).

• Nervous conditions with insomnia, sensual dreams, spastic manifestations due to fear, jealousy, emotional disappointment, sometimes accompanied by seizures caused by suggestion and manifestations of characteristic sexual irritability.

• Characteristic manifestations of delirium in asthenic elders with pale and sunken faces who are suspicious, jealous and refusing care.

• Nocturnal spastic cough worsening when lying down, improving when sitting.

• Singultus - waiting.

• Serious infections with adynamia (eg conditions of typhoid), dry mouth and pharynx, chills, myoclonus, incontinence, characteristic delirium.

CHARACTERISTICS - FEELINGS: Hallucinatory feelings caused by scopolamine toxicity are associated in rare practice with rare pathology - a feeling of levitation, objects are seen in red and larger than in reality; when reading, the letters seem to move or bounce.

MODALITIES: Exacerbation by emotions, in fear, jealousy; touch; lying down (cough); during menstruation. Improvement in sitting (cough).

ACCOMPANYING CHARACTERISTICS: Mydriasis; nervous laughter; hand and foot routes; spasm, myoclonus.
