buscopan

The medicine contains butylscopolamine bromide. It belongs to the group of antispasmodics. Antispasmodics are drugs that relieve cramps of internal organs, e.g. in the gastrointestinal, biliary, urinary or female genital organs and therefore relieve pain. They are used for pain caused by colic (pain inside the abdominal cavity, characterized by alternating increasing and decreasing intensity without precise localization) and pain originating in the said internal organs.

It is used to eliminate smooth muscle cramps in the digestive tract, urinary and genital organs (stomach, intestines, bile and urinary tract). It can be used e.g. in gallbladder and kidney colic, gastrointestinal cramps of various origins, irritable bowel syndrome or painful menstruation.
