GELSEMIUM SEMPERVIRENS

INDICATIONS DEPENDING ON TOXICOLOGICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL DATA:

• Influenza in an adynamic form, in which there is complete exhaustion and a significant route, a flush to the head with a crimson-red face and intense headaches. Present feeling of breakage and heavy limbs, absence of thirst. All adynamic febrile conditions corresponding to this clinical form can be treated with Gelsemio as an adjunct to conventional therapy.

• Localized motor paralysis: paralysis after viral infection (facial, postzoster) or paralysis after compression (barrel syndrome). Paralysis as a consequence of serotherapy.

• Poliomyelitis anterior acuta - this indication is current in countries where poliomyelitis has not yet been completely eliminated.

• Myasthenia: Indications in the initiation phase, where the clinical symptoms (ptosis, squinting and diplopia, later dysarthria, paralysis of the neck, body and limbs) correspond to the clinical picture of curare intoxication, which is pharmacologically similar to gelsemin.

• Inertia of the uterus.

INDICATIONS DEPENDING ON PATHOGENETIC DATA:

• Tremor in the form of inhibitions with prejudices, memory disorders, chills and diarrhea or polakizuria.

• Insomnia - as a result of anticipatory anxiety (for example, before a visit to the dentist or before surgery).

• Headaches and migraines, especially in the head with a shot into the muscles of the shoulder and neck and eye pain. Migraines with various ophthalmoplegia, the pain subsides with the advent of visual disturbances. These difficulties are usually accompanied by apathy and complete exhaustion. They are relieved by holding the head upright or by urinating copiously.

CHARACTERISTICS - FEELINGS: Fatigue, general weakness, drowsiness, numbness; overall breakage; heavy limbs; burst head; diplopia; migraines preceded by visual disturbances; headaches shooting into the neck and shoulders; feeling that the heart stops (unless the patient moves).

MODALITIES: Deterioration by heat, warm weather; emotions; bad news. Improvement by heavy urination; sweating; when moving or shaking (in bradycardia).

ACCOMPANYING CHARACTERISTICS: Absence of thirst for fever; head flushes with a crimson red face and cold limbs; irritant rhinitis; aphonia for vocal cord paralysis; sweating (especially on the scrotum); measles rash; diplopia (febrile illness and migraine).
